One of our local Boy Scouts, Brendan, has chosen Canines With a Cause for his Eagle Scout project. Brendan will be at the jewelry and craft fair raising funds so he can build training supplies and equipment for our program dogs.

This will be the perfect time and place to pick up a beautiful and unique Mother’s Day gift for mom, grandmother, Nana, or a daughter who is celebrating motherhood.

Brendan’s mom can take much pride in his scouting achievements. His dedication and determination not only earn the honor of being an Eagle Scout but the experience will benefit him a lifetime.

One of our Board of Directors, Jenn B. will also be at the fair so take a few minutes and check out some of the awesome jewelry Jenn creates. She has fantastic sense of style and charm! Jenn introduced Brendan to Avery Hill Beads and More, she’s a real trooper.

One of our trainers, Catherine C. is helping Brendan decide what training equipment to build and locating DYI instructions and patterns. Then the rest is up to Brendan and his team of Boy Scouts. This is a great exercise in project management, funding, budgeting and leading a team for Brendan.

Catherine has given us a few hints at what Brendan and his team will be creating for the program dogs. Outdoor equipment seems to be high on the list, agility style work is part of service dog training since the dogs encounter things like steps, unusual obstacles, uneven terrain or delicate objects in their daily duties. Imagine what goes through a dog’s mind when they are asked to ride an escalator, walk over storm grates or enter a store but not contact the displays or clothing.

Canines With a Cause operates entirely on donations, our training staff works very hard to improvise and be frugal with training equipment and supplies. This generous donation will help our training staff immensely! If you would like to support us through a service project or fundraising project please contact us at info@canineswithacause.org

Check back and we will post pictures of Brendan’s projects!

Canines With a Cause extends our sincerest appreciation to Brendan and his team for choosing us for his Eagle Scout Project! Thanks to Jenn and Catherine for giving Brendan guidance on this.
